The café table

The café was full, there was exactly one chair left, and Teo asked if it was taken. It was not. Neither of us remembers what the coffee was like.

The "coincidences"

Mara started "accidentally" showing up every Tuesday. Teo started "accidentally" doing the same. We've argued about who started it ever since.

The question

Teo proposed in the kitchen on a random Wednesday while the pasta boiled over. Mara said yes before he finished the sentence. The pasta was not salvageable.

Ceremony

In the garden, under the walnut trees. Arrive 20 minutes early; we start on time (Mara is a designer, punctuality is a love language).

Drinks & lawn games

Cocktails, snacks, and mildly competitive croquet.

Dinner

Long tables, family style. Tell us about allergies in the RSVP.

9:30 PM

Dancing

Teo made the playlist. It's three hours long. He's very serious about it.

The place

One venue, the whole day

  • Ceremony and party in the same place — no mid-day travel.
  • Garden ceremony, covered terrace for dinner. If it rains, everything moves under cover (and continues exactly the same).
  • Free parking on site. There's also a shuttle from Arroyo Claro town square at 3:45 PM — mention it in your RSVP if you want a seat.
Before you ask

The six things everyone asks

Dress code

"Garden festive." Colors, prints, comfortable shoes for grass. No suits required; no white dresses, please (one is enough).

Kids

We love them, and this night is for grown-ups. Babies in arms are welcome; for everyone else, enjoy a night off.

Gifts

Your presence, honestly. If you insist, there's a honeymoon fund — details inside the RSVP confirmation. No boxed appliances, we beg you.

Plus-ones

Check your invitation. Your RSVP form already knows how many seats we reserved for you; if something's off, write to us.

Weather

It's a garden in March. Bring a layer for after sunset. Heaters exist and will be deployed.

Photos

Yes, please — with one exception. Phones away during the ceremony (we hired a great photographer); the rest of the night, post everything.

What time should I actually arrive?

4:10 PM. The ceremony starts at 4:30 sharp, and the garden gate is a five-minute walk from the parking.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes — step-free paths from parking to the garden, terrace, and bathrooms. If you need anything specific, tell us in the RSVP notes.

Where do people stay?

Most guests are booking in Arroyo Claro town (15 minutes away). Any mid-range hotel there is fine; the shuttle leaves from the main square.

Can I bring my dog?

We asked the venue. The venue said the peacocks said no. (Yes, there are peacocks.)
